American Dreamz

“Imagine a country where more people vote for a pop idol than they do for their next President.”

The season of "American Dreamz," the country's favorite singing contest, has narrowed to a Midwestern girl and a showtunes-loving young man from Orange County. Martin Tweed (Hugh Grant), the show's host, runs it, and President Staton (Dennis Quaid) has just signed on to appear in the season finale. Paul Weitz puts the White House and the studio audience in the same room, with a whole country watching.
