Iraq, in the years after the invasion, is where U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) takes up a rooftop position over his comrades' patrols and starts counting the lives he can protect. Clint Eastwood follows him through four tours of duty, with Taya (Sienna Miller) waiting at home to see which version of him comes back. The better Chris gets at the work, the harder he finds it to stand in his own kitchen and be a husband and father.
