Amira & Sam

“The only place they belong is together”

Sam (Martin Starr), an Army veteran back from Afghanistan and Iraq, visits Bassam (Laith Nakli), the Iraqi translator who served beside him, and meets his niece Amira (Dina Shihabi). She sells bootleg DVDs on a street corner and distrusts any American soldier, since one bomb killed her brother. Sean Mullin keeps the story low and close, and the last thing in the frame is Sam's dented soldier's face turned toward a girl with a stack of discs.
