Ammonite

Mary Anning (Kate Winslet) wants only to be left alone with her fossils on the cold English coast in the 1840s, selling specimens to visitors while her name goes to others. Then Charlotte Murchison (Saoirse Ronan), a young woman sent to the sea by her husband to recover, is left in her care. Francis Lee films their slow thaw in close, unhurried shots and lets the work of two hands carry the feeling.
