Amrum

On Amrum Island in the spring of 1945, twelve-year-old Nanning (Jasper Billerbeck) hunts seals, fishes at night and works the fields so his family can eat. When the war ends, his mother Hille (Laura Tonke) sinks into depression, and he has to find his own way through the quarrels and silences that follow. Fatih Akin, drawing on Hark Bohm's childhood, leaves the boy out in the fields, working.
