Michael Malone (Kevin Farley) is a Hollywood documentary maker who has decided that America's problem is the Fourth of July, and he sets out to get the holiday abolished. The night before the campaign, three spirits turn up in his bedroom, among them General George S. Patton (Kelsey Grammer). David Zucker borrows the structure of A Christmas Carol and fills it with gags, and Michael drags his certainty from one ghost to the next.
