An Innocent Man

Two Long Beach cops burst into the wrong house, shoot Jimmie Rainwood (Tom Selleck), and frame the airline mechanic as the drug dealer they came for. A planted informant's perjured testimony sends him to a seedy prison, where Virgil Cane (F. Murray Abraham) sizes him up and every man on the block says he was framed too. Peter Yates keeps the camera close on Selleck in the cells, so the walls seem to shrink around him.
