Juliette Hardy (Brigitte Bardot), an 18-year-old orphan in St Tropez, goes after every pleasure the town has to offer, and the whole place starts to take notice. Roger Vadim, making his directorial debut, films the sun-bleached streets and the harbor as her backdrop. Her husband Michel (Jean-Louis Trintignant) is gentle and naïve, and he keeps trying to hold on to a woman who will not be held.
