“Meet Max 404. He's a little over five years old. He just met his first woman. It's time to get down to Earth.”

On a space station deep in space, Dr. Daniel (Klaus Kinski) and his shy assistant Max carry out illegal research on androids and keep to a quiet routine. That routine ends when three fugitives arrive unannounced, among them Maggie (Brie Howard), and both men take an interest in her. Aaron Lipstadt keeps the camera inside the laboratory, where the androids stand motionless in the lab and one of the new arrivals has darker plans.
