Angel

(1937)Directed by Ernst Lubitsch91 minRomance, Drama, Comedy
“I want love - and I'm going to get it!”

In Paris, a woman known only as Angel is seen at the edge of a stranger's life, and nobody around her explains who she is or what she wants. Ernst Lubitsch builds the first act on that gap. Lady Maria Barker (Marlene Dietrich) has a diplomat husband, Sir Frederick (Herbert Marshall), who is always at work, and a holiday alone brings Tony Halton (Melvyn Douglas) into her path. She goes on keeping the secret, and it costs her.
