Angel and the Badman

Quirt Evans (John Wayne), a gunfighter shot and bleeding, is taken in and nursed back to health by a Quaker family and their daughter Penny Worth (Gail Russell). James Edward Grant, directing the first picture Wayne also produced, keeps him at their table while Marshal Wistful McClintock (Harry Carey) and Laredo Stevens (Bruce Cabot) watch for the old life to come calling. Penny sees a man worth keeping, and Quirt can't tell whether he can be one.
