“It will scare you to your very soul.”

In 1955, Harry Angel (Mickey Rourke) is a small-time private investigator in Brooklyn when a client named Louis Cyphre (Robert De Niro) hires him to find Johnny Favorite, a singer who has dropped out of sight. The search carries him from Harlem to the jazz clubs of New Orleans, where Alan Parker has him questioning people about a man nobody wants to discuss. Harry works through swamps and voodoo and the thick smoke of the music halls.
