Angele
A naive young woman, Angèle Barbaroux (Orane Demazis), is seduced and abandoned, and the story begins in the shadow of what that does to her household. Her father Clarius (Henri Poupon) and mother Philomène (Annie Toinon) must decide how to face it, while the farmhand Saturnin (Fernandel) watches from the edge of the family. Marcel Pagnol wrote, produced and directed this adaptation of Jean Giono's novel Un de Baumugnes, and he gives the story his own plain hand.
