Angels in the Outfield

Guffy McGovern (Paul Douglas) manages the Pittsburgh Pirates, a team that keeps losing while he screams at his players, and then a voice that no one else can hear starts telling him to change. Clarence Brown follows the new reporter Jennifer Paige (Janet Leigh), who blames Guffy's temper for the losing streak and sets out to prove it in print. The angel's offer is simple, and between Guffy and Jennifer a wary, bickering friendship starts to take shape.
