Angels of Sin

(1943)Directed by Robert Bresson86 minDrama

Anne-Marie Lamaury (Renée Faure), a well-off young woman, joins a convent that takes in women released from prison. There she meets Thérèse (Jany Holt), who turns down every offer of help and insists she was innocent of the crime that put her away. Robert Bresson, in his first feature, made it in 1943 under the German occupation, and it ends on the two women in the convent.
