Angels with Dirty Faces
“The saga of America’s dirty faced kids... and the breaks that life won’t give them!”
Rocky Sullivan (James Cagney) gets out of prison after three years and heads straight for the $100,000 that mob lawyer James Frazier (Humphrey Bogart) owes him. In the old tenement neighborhood, his childhood friend Jerry Connolly (Pat O'Brien) is now a priest, trying to keep a pack of local kids from following Rocky's example. Michael Curtiz sets the two men on opposite sides of one street, and the film is about how far loyalty to a boyhood friend can carry you.
