Mike (Jean-Paul Belmondo) and Jane (Raquel Welch) are stunt performers, and the producers make them shoot a car stunt on their wedding day. Mike takes his eyes off the road and wrecks the car, and both land in the hospital. Claude Zidi sends Mike after Jane's forgiveness through a film set where he doubles for an action star who is really a coward, Jane watching from the edge of the shot.
