Ron Decker (Edward Furlong) is a young suburbanite who figures the marijuana charge against him is no big deal, until it gets him five years in San Quentin. Thin and out of his depth, he is exactly the kind of new arrival that predators and rough guards go looking for. Steve Buscemi directs Earl Copen (Willem Dafoe), a veteran inmate who takes Ron under his protection, and Ron's safety now depends on a man who may not stay on his side.
