“A crime story”

Joshua "J" Cody, a teenager left alone after his mother dies of an overdose, moves in with the relatives he has long been kept away from. His grandmother Janine "Smurf" Cody (Jacki Weaver) runs the household and its crimes, and J is soon drawn into the family's way of life, while a cop, Nathan Leckie (Guy Pearce), offers him another one. David Michôd, in his first feature, keeps the camera patient and the house quiet.
