Anjali

Anjali (Shamili) is a small girl her mother Chitra (Revathi) was told had died at birth. Years later Chitra learns she is alive but has a mental illness, and the child comes home to a family that has to learn how to look after her. Mani Ratnam's film sets the household's attention on one child, with her older brother Arjun (Tarun) and sister Anu (Shruthi) among those whose daily lives bend around her, and shows how much that care asks of all of them.
