“Garbo Talks!”

Chris Christofferson (George F. Marion), an old sailor, has waited years to see his daughter Anna, sent to relatives in Minnesota when she was five. He believes she has grown into a decent, respectably employed young woman, but the Anna who steps off the boat (Greta Garbo) has lived hard among the dregs, and much of her spirit is gone. Clarence Brown follows her as she falls for a sailor her father pulled from the sea, and as she tries to keep the truth from him.
