Anna Karenina

(1948)Directed by Julien Duvivier139 minDrama, Romance
“Vivien Leigh— in the most magnificent love story ever written!”

In Imperial Russia, the officer's wife Anna Karenina (Vivien Leigh) takes a train to Moscow to visit her brother, and on the way she meets the cavalry officer Count Vronsky (Kieron Moore). She is drawn to him at once, though in St. Petersburg society a woman's name can be ruined by less. Julien Duvivier follows Anna as she weighs her husband Karenin (Ralph Richardson) and her standing against a feeling she has no practice in hiding.
