“50,000 Apply. 1,200 Are Accepted. Only The Best Survive”

Jake Huard (James Franco) grew up in a shipbuilders' family and promised his dying mother he would make it to the Naval Academy at Annapolis. His grades are weak, so he wins his place by pestering a Congressman until the man gives in. Justin Lin follows him through the brigade boxing tournament, where Jake pushes against Cole (Tyrese Gibson) and Ali (Jordana Brewster), who may be the one person there who sees him.
