Anne of Green Gables

“Go back to the day that Anne was waiting at the train station...”

A red-haired orphan named Anne Shirley (Megan Follows) steps off the train expecting a family, only to learn that farmer Matthew Cuthbert (Richard Farnsworth) and his sister Marilla (Colleen Dewhurst) sent for a boy to help with the farm work. Kevin Sullivan follows her as she wins over the Cuthberts and the neighbors who look her over with doubt. Anne has never belonged anywhere, and the film is about being wanted for who you are, not for the work you can do.
