In a near-future world with no privacy and no anonymity, everyone's memories are recorded and crime has almost disappeared. Detective Sal Frieland (Clive Owen) is working a string of unsolved murders when he finds a young woman (Amanda Seyfried) who has no identity, no history and no record. Andrew Niccol films the city through glass and screens, and the cool, ordered look of it keeps unsettling.
