Another Year

In a London home across four seasons, Tom (Jim Broadbent) and Gerri (Ruth Sheen), long married and close to retirement, tend their allotment and cook for whoever turns up. Mike Leigh brings the visitors to their table one at a time, among them Mary (Lesley Manville), Gerri's work friend, who arrives with a glass in her hand and a cheerful story. Mary keeps coming back, because the couple's kitchen is the one place she can stay.
