Antarctica
“Amidst the coldest, harshest surroundings on earth, this true story celebrates the mystery and the warmth of life.”
In 1958, fifteen Sakhalin huskies are left chained and behind at a Japanese research station in Antarctica after the team is pulled out in severe weather. Ushioda (Ken Takakura) is one of the scientists who came to the pole with those dogs, and he has spent the expedition learning the lead dogs Taro and Jiro. Koreyoshi Kurahara ends up on the ice with the dogs, fifteen shapes on the snow and nobody coming for them.
