Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood) hunts with his tribe in the Yucatan jungle when raiders descend, enslaving the survivors and marching them toward a distant city. Zero Wolf (Raoul Max Trujillo) leads the captors with brutal efficiency, and Jaguar Paw is separated from his pregnant wife. Gibson builds the film as a relentless chase, the jungle itself becoming both barrier and weapon, green and closing in.
