April Captains

In the spring of 1974, a group of young army captains is quietly planning to overthrow Portugal's right-wing dictatorship, the regime Salazar built and Marcelo Caetano now runs. Captain Maia (Stefano Accorsi) is one of them, and Maria de Medeiros directs and appears as Antónia, with Joaquim de Almeida as Gervásio. If the coup is found out before it begins, the officers face arrest, and the country faces another stretch of the same rule.
