Clara (Sonia Braga) is a widowed former music critic who has lived for decades in the Aquarius, a low older building on a seaside street. She is the last resident left, and a construction company wants her out so it can put up a luxury high-rise. Kleber Mendonça Filho follows the standoff as she turns down each offer, with her apartment and the life kept inside it at stake.
