Arabian Nights: Volume 1, The Restless One

In Portugal in 2015, Xerazade (Crista Alfaiate) must keep King Shahryar listening, because each night's unfinished tale is the only thing standing between her and the executioner. The stories she tells are not the ones from the old book, but ones drawn from the country around her, funny and tragic, with the rich and the poor and the powerful all in them. Miguel Gomes cuts between them like a man turning pages, giving each its own weather and its own size.
