Nick Persons (Ice Cube) is a bachelor who runs a sports memorabilia shop in Portland, and he has just met a divorced mother, Suzanne (Nia Long), whom he badly wants to impress. When her work keeps her in Vancouver over New Year's Eve, he offers to drive her kids north. Lindsey (Aleisha Allen) and Kevin (Philip Bolden) have chased off every man their mother has dated, and Nick is simply the next one.
