Six Americans have slipped out of the embassy in Tehran and are sheltering at the Canadian ambassador's house, and no one in Washington can find a way to get them home. Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck), a CIA exfiltration specialist, proposes the strangest option on the table, with help from Lester Siegel (Alan Arkin) and John Chambers (John Goodman). Ben Affleck directs, and the story stays on Mendez, a tired man with a bad idea and a briefcase of forged papers.
