Arise, My Love

(1940)Directed by Mitchell Leisen110 minComedy, Romance, Drama

Augusta Nash (Claudette Colbert) is a quick-talking reporter, and her quickness shows when she meets Tom Martin (Ray Milland), an American pilot, in the last days of the Spanish Civil War. Mitchell Leisen follows the two of them through Europe as the first months of World War II close in around their romance. Augusta keeps chasing the story, and the story keeps pulling her closer to a war she can no longer cover from a distance.
