Armageddon Time

“The end of an era. The beginning of everything.”

Paul Graff (Banks Repeta) is a sixth grader in Queens in 1980, a kid who draws all day and would rather be anywhere than at his desk. He takes up with Johnny Davis (Jaylin Webb), a Black classmate the teachers have already written off, and his parents, Esther (Anne Hathaway) and Irving (Jeremy Strong), don't like it. James Gray draws on his own childhood here, and the film keeps returning to the two boys, one with a family to catch him and one without.
