“She Passed Out On Cary! No Wonder . . . She's just discovered his favorite aunts have poisoned their 13th gentleman friend!”

Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant), a drama critic and playwright famous for writing against marriage, has just fallen in love and wed Elaine (Priscilla Lane). He hurries home to tell his two maiden aunts, Abby (Josephine Hull) and Martha (Jean Adair), and finds out what they have been doing for lonely old men and burying in the cellar.
