Arthur

(1981)Directed by Steve Gordon97 min · PGComedy, Drama, Romance
“The most fun money can buy.”

Arthur Bach (Dudley Moore) is a drunken, endlessly cheerful New York millionaire who wants nothing more than to keep playing. His relatives will hand over $750 million if he marries Susan Johnson (Jill Eikenberry), the heiress they picked, and Hobson (John Gielgud), his dry valet, is the one person who still looks after him. Steve Gordon sets the comedy against a harder question, which is what a fortune is worth to a man who has never had to want anything else.
