Arthur Montgomery (Freddie Highmore) is a boy who gets a distress call from Princess Selenia, the tiny ruler of the Minimoys. She is menaced by Maltazard, the villain who wants her kingdom back under his thumb. Luc Besson mixes live-action scenes with a crowded animated world, and fills the Minimoy kingdom with so much color and invention that the screen rarely sits still.
