As Cool as I Am

“How do you grow up when your parents haven't?”

Lucy Diamond (Sarah Bolger) is sixteen and already runs her family's house in a small American town, since her mother Lainee (Claire Danes) is hardly more than a kid herself. Her father Chuck (James Marsden) is up in Canada for months at a stretch, and Max Mayer follows Lucy as she turns toward her old friend Kenny (Thomas Mann). Lucy stands in the kitchen of that quiet house, a girl doing the grown-up chores while the adults are somewhere else.
