Assault

“Evil grows wild... nothing else lives very long.”

A schoolgirl is raped on a short cut through the woods, and a few days later another girl is dead. The police have nothing, so Julie West (Suzy Kendall), a young teacher, decides to make herself the bait, with a reporter (Freddie Jones) helping and Detective Chief Superintendent Velyan (Frank Finlay) holding the case. Sidney Hayers lets the trees close in around the path, and Julie walks it alone.
