“Every sacrifice deserves to be immortalized.”

In 1948, Captain Gu Zidi (Zhang Hanyu) holds a position during a turning point in the civil war, and his company is told to wait for a bugle call before it can pull back. Feng Xiaogang leaves Gu with nothing but his own account and a name he repeats to anyone who will listen.
