Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner

Atanarjuat (Natar Ungalaaq) wants Atuat (Sylvia Ivalu), and so does Oki (Peter-Henry Arnatsiaq), the camp leader's son, which sets two men against each other in an Inuit community told from a legend. Zacharias Kunuk, an Inuk filmmaker, made it entirely in Inuktitut with an Inuit cast. Rivals settle their quarrels by taking turns punching each other, lamps burn seal oil, and love and jealousy are treated as matters of survival.
