In a near-future America where the economy is failing and the railroads are among the few things still running, Dagny Taggart (Taylor Schilling) is the executive keeping Taggart Transcontinental alive. Her brother James (Matthew Marsden) runs the company's politics while she runs its trains, with Eddie Willers (Edi Gathegi) at her side. Paul Johansson's adaptation of Ayn Rand's 1957 novel leaves Dagny at her desk, working on while the country around her comes apart.
