Au Revoir les Enfants

Julien Quentin (Gaspard Manesse) goes back to his Catholic boarding school in provincial, Nazi-occupied France, and a new boy, Jean Bonnet (Raphael Fejtö), is put in the next bed. Louis Malle draws on his own childhood, and the two boys circle each other as rivals first, then as friends, while Father Jean (Philippe Morier-Genoud) runs the school and keeps a secret. Julien sits in the cold dormitory, watching Jean sleep.
