“Welcome to Australia!”

Lady Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman) leaves England for northern Australia to sell the cattle station her husband left her, only to find the land in dispute and a rival, King Carney (Bryan Brown), circling it. She hires a rough stock-man known as the Drover (Hugh Jackman) to push 2,000 head across country that does not forgive mistakes. Baz Luhrmann sets the drive in 1939, with the property, a boy's safety, and Darwin itself all in danger.
