It is autumn in Estonia, and six people live in the same gray Soviet-era concrete blocks, each alone behind a different door. Veiko Õunpuu follows Mati (Rain Tolk), an intellectual, and Theo (Taavi Eelmaa), a doorman, along with a single mother, an architect and a hairdresser, adapting Mati Unt's 1979 novel. All of them are looking for companionship, for love, for one ray of light in the gray, and what they reach for is each other.
