Autumn Leaves

(1956)Directed by Robert Aldrich107 minDrama, Mystery, Romance
“In the dark, when I feel his heart pounding against mine - is it love? or frenzy? or terror?”

Millicent Wetherby (Joan Crawford) is a lonely woman who earns her living typing manuscripts at home, and she has settled into a life with no one else in it. Then Burt Hanson (Cliff Robertson), a much younger man, sits down across from her, and the two begin seeing each other. Robert Aldrich's film is about how little love can do against an illness that neither person can talk their way out of.
