A new ski resort is about to open its slopes, and Nick Thorne (Robert Forster) keeps warning that the mountain above it is not stable. David Shelby (Rock Hudson), the developer who built the place, wants the guests on the snow anyway, and Caroline Brace (Mia Farrow) is among those who have come to ski.
