Avalon

“Dare to enter a world of future videogames.”

Ash (Małgorzata Foremniak) is a star player in Avalon, an illegal battle simulation that has hooked a generation of young people and can kill the ones who lose themselves in it. She plays alone, until rumors of a hidden advanced level push her to join a gang of explorers. Mamoru Oshii shot this Polish-language film in sickly, digitized color, and Ash can't know whether the way into that level is also a way back out.
