AWOL

Joey (Lola Kirke), a young woman in the Army, wants a way out of where she is headed, and she has no clear idea of what she'd be heading toward instead. Then she meets Rayna (Breeda Wool), an older woman, and the question of where she belongs gets harder to put off. Deb Shoval's debut keeps its attention on the two of them, a first love that makes Joey weigh what she owes against what she wants.
